Thanks for visiting. My name is Tom. I’m an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (also known as the Mormon or LDS church). I’ve been an active member of the church my entire life. As I’ve struggled with callings and family responsibilities and as I’ve struggled with establishing myself in a career, a wonderful thing has happened. The gospel of Jesus Christ has changed me. My desires are different than they were 25 years ago. The goals I set as a young man are different today. The direct sunlight of the gospel has left them faded and drab.
As I decide how to do the things I yearn to do, I think about promptings and insights gathered along my path. For now, I’m beginning to share the parts of the gospel that have had a transformative affect on my life. I’ve found that God, our Heavenly Father, and His Son Jesus Christ are positive and happy and understanding. They are kind and caring and patient. I’ve also found that it takes a lot of convincing to get myself to believe this.
Yes, for many years I slumped my shoulders and hung my head as I worked hard to obey the commandments of God. I knew my efforts were flawed and incomplete. What I didn’t know or at least believe was that God wanted me to cheer up. He needed me to cheer up and live the gospel with a smile. The idea that the restored gospel is true was life changing for me. I accepted that decades ago. The idea that today I need to actually experience the joy that Father Lehi talks about in the Book of Mormon (2 Nephi 2:25) is one I’m still getting comfortable with.
As I learn more about practicing positivity as part of living the gospel, I can’t stop myself from sharing. I hope you’ll find helpful, uplifting thoughts and practical suggestions on this site. Please share what you’ve learned about positive gospel living with me and other readers. I hope that as we all learn to take God at His word and live the gospel of Jesus Christ with a smile that we’ll find ways to help others realize that the plan of happiness isn’t meant to start now and not in the after-life.

Now for a couple of disclaimers . . .
First, this is a personal website. Many of the ideas and opinions that appear here relate in to the doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, my words should not be taken as official opinions or policies of the church. I alone am responsible for the content of the pages you find here.
Second, if you are not a member of the LDS church, I hope you will stay and browse a bit and share your positive thoughts about living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I do consider myself a Christian in every way. I understand that some non-LDS Christians have differing opinions about what qualifies a person to be a believer. I respect that. As we respect each other, we can learn from one another in ways that will help us smile as we follow the Savior of mankind.
